Group & Individual Classes / Mentoring Program
Zion’s Daughters Dance Ensemble, Inc. ® (Zion’s Dtrs Inc.) is a Faith based community outreach dance organization established in 2009. This ministry was called into existence by God and given as a vision to Minister Marjorie B. Gorham-Jones. In the spring of 2012, Mrs. Chari Christie joined the team as Partner/Executive Assistant and
Mrs. Monica Cole as Financial Officer. The Zion’s Dtrs Inc. Family includes our Levels I, II, III, Mime, Little Angels
of Praise, Son of Zion and our Women of Purpose Adult Dancers. The educational component of our liturgical
dance program uses various genres of dance techniques (African, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Modern) to assist
our members in using their entire bodies allowing them to worship at a higher level.

Each dancer is taught that through every piece of choreography, the Holy Spirit should move as they use their gifts and talents to serve others while God is being praised. Our dancers receive biblical instruction and spiritual teachings, with a focus on “Reaching Out,” “Lifting Up,” and “Holding On” to God and His Kingdom. The gift of dance and experience of worship is nurtured and developed in our dancers to empower them as they blossom into self-sufficient, confident people; while impacting the community through the art of dance, enhancing the church body, and enriching God’s Kingdom.

The Circle of Sisters Mentoring Program was established in 2014. This faith based program is under the umbrella of Zion’s Dtrs Inc. where the goal is to develop a sisterhood for members whose ages range from 6 - 22 years old. The program seeks to enhance personal development and be a supportive service to assist members in overcoming challenges. Our goal is to equip them to become self-sufficient, positive, and productive individuals in their families, churches, schools, and communities. Zion’s Daughters Dance Ensemble, Inc. ® is family oriented and was created out of love not only for our dancers but also their families.
Little Angels of Praise (Age 2 to 5 yrs.)
Little Angels Pre-Beginner Dancers-
Dance Teacher/Choreographer, Mrs. Marjorie B. Gorham-Jones, Student Assistants Trinity Christie, and Ashanti Gorham. These are pre-beginner dancers starting at ages 3+ and up, this group receives stretching exercises/ movement across the floor, along with Pre-Beginner Ballet Tech, and Liturgical Dance.

Level 3 (Age 6 to 11 yrs.)
Level 3 - Beginner Dancers -
Dance Teacher/Choreographer, Mrs. Marjorie B. Gorham-Jones, Student Assistants Trinity Christie, and Ashanti Gorham. This group starts at ages 6 and up they received stretching exercises/movement across the floor,
Pre-Beginner Ballet Tech, and Liturgical Dance. Those who demonstrated to be more skill in Pre-Beginner Ballet Tech are selected by the Dance Teacher to attend a Thursday Class to take class with the higher level dancers to receive training when we bring in an outside Guest Ballet Technique Dance Teacher, Modern Dance Teacher, African Dance Teacher or Hip-Hop Dance Teacher. On occasion if a special piece of choreography is being taught with one of these genres of dance the Level 3 dancer selected will also have an opportunity to dance with the higher level dancers if they can retain the dance choreography.

Level 2 (Age 12 & Up) - Upon Dance / Skill Level
Level 2 - Intermediate Dancers - Dance Teacher/Choreographer, Mrs. Marjorie B. Gorham-Jones, Dance Teacher/Choreographer, Mrs. Marjorie B. Gorham-Jones. This dance group consist of pre-teens and teens who are not advance dancers. Dancers receive stretching exercises, movement across the floor, Beginner Ballet Tech, and Liturgical Dance. They attend mandatory Thursday classes when we bring in an outside Guest Ballet Technique Dance Teacher, Modern Dance Teacher, African Dance Teacher or Hip-Hop Dance Teacher. This gives the dancer an opportunity to experience other genres of dance and prepares them for the next level of dance.

Level 1 (Age 13 & Up) - Upon Dance / Skill Level
Level 1 - Advance Dancers - Dance Teacher/Choreographer, Genesis Christie.
This dance group consist of teen/young adult dancers who want more and willing to go higher in their dance technique. Dancers receive stretching exercises, movement across the floor, leaps, modern dance and our primary dance Liturgical Dance. This dance group practices on Thursday’s and it is mandatory for these dancers to be in attendance when we have outside Guest Dance Teachers classes for Ballet Technique/Modern Dance/African Dance and Hip-Hop.
(The Level 1 Dancers practice sessions are two hours)

Women of Purpose Adult Dancers
Women of Purpose - Dance Teacher/Choreographer, Minister Marjorie B. Gorham-Jones. This group ranges in ages 20+ to 60+ and received stretching, movement across the floor, and some Beginner Ballet Technique along with Liturgical Dance. The adults receive the same opportunity to attend our Guest Ballet Technique Class, Modern Dance Class, African Dance Class and Hip-Hop Class it is not mandatory for them but an opportunity to experience other genres of dance.

The Son of Zion is one of our newest entities and right now consist of one youth male dancer this dancer dances with the Level 3 Beginner dancers. Our Mime Ministry is another one of newest entities and consist of one teen female.

Every two months Zion’s Daughters Dance Ensemble Inc., invites a guest speaker to come and speak with our
pre-teens/teens and young adults. We believe that we need to speak to the enrichment of each dancer. Our desire is to assist with their personal development and be a support system to them in overcoming challenges they face, and equip them to become self-sufficient, positive and productive individuals in their families, churches, schools and communities.
